Nora Roberts: The Bride Quartet Series

Vision In White, the first book of this new Roberts series, does not do Nora much justice. In fact, I actually stopped reading (due to lack of interest) and promptly vowed not to read the rest, as tempting as Nora Roberts could be.   The premise is of four childhood friends starting up a one-stop shop for weddings, their venue being an old romantic mansion which also serves as their home.  Couldn’t be better right? The stage is set and the props include cakes, flowers, successful women, and love.

So what was lacking? …maybe it was that the first blushing bride was reluctant to embrace love…so much so that you just wanted to tell her to get over herself? Or maybe there wasn’t enough character depth?  Regardless, I felt it wasn’t worth prolonging a bath or taking an interest in the sisters to the novel.

I failed miserably in my avoidance and am happy to report that her second in the series, Bed of Roses, ups up the tension, heat and emotion and left me wanting to immediately read the third, Savor the Moment.

Perfect to light up a dreary day, or partner you in a bath, Bed of Roses is a solid ♥♥♥♥…one heart was lost due to the inventive wordiness of some of her writing…

happy reading!!
